With eleven victories by technical knockout or submission, and less than 30 minutes of accumulated time in the Octagon throughout her career, the bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has an intimidating retrospect. And that was precisely why the blonde opened her bets for the fight against Beth Pitbull in Rio de Janeiro with historic favoritism, with values well above the biggest upsets in UFC history.

According to the specialized website “Best Fight Odds”, Ronda has an initial odds of -1500, which means that to make a profit of US$ 100 (R$ 320) on the champion's victory, the bettor will have to pay no less than US$1,5 (R$4,8), a return of just over US$0,06 for every dollar invested. As for Bethe, it appears that odds reach +820, which means that every US$100 bet on her triumph yields another US$820 (R$2,6), or 8,2 times the amount invested.
Such a disadvantage in betting houses, like the one seen in Bethe's case, has never been reversed in the history of title fights in Ultimate. To date, the biggest upset among bettors to unseat the champion was the North American TJ Dillashaw, who appeared with a quote of +710 against the Brazilian Renan Barao, which in turn reached -1250 on the eve of the fight.
Ronda Rousey will fight for the first time in front of the Brazilian public on August 1st, at the HSBC Arena, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The bantamweight champion faces the undefeated challenger Beth Pitbull in the main fight of UFC 190. The event will also feature a rematch between Mauritius Shogun e Rogério Minotouro, who starred in one of the most memorable fights of the now extinct PRIDE.
