Demian Maia achieved a dominant victory in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 62, winning almost every round and taking the undefeated record from the tough Ryan LaFlare. However, UFC president, Dana White, was not satisfied with the performance presented by the Brazilian in Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday night (21).

White considered that Maia could have sought the submission a little more, as he presented himself with a lot of superiority in the ground fight. “I would like to see Demian Maia taking more risks. He was being totally dominant, getting the best positions on the ground and almost finishing. But he could risk more and try to finish more. He could have done better than that, and ended up losing a point at the end because he retreated too much”, said the manager, in an interview with the “SporTV” channel.

This was Maia's fifth win since moving to the welterweight division, having suffered two defeats (to Jake Shields e Rory McDonald).
