With a respectful look, Demian Maia makes weight and aims for another chance at the belt

The weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 62, which took place this Friday (20), in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), was carried out without any major scares. All 24 athletes who will participate in the event at the Maracanãzinho gym did not have any difficulty in reaching the weight limit for their categories, thus confirming all the fights on the schedule.

Star of the main fight of the night, Demian Maia he weighed 77,5 kg, using the extra pound (0,45 kg) of tolerance given to fights that are not valid for the belt. The same happened with his opponent, the undefeated Ryan LaFlare, who weighed exactly the same on the scale. After weighing themselves, the fighters had a very respectful look, hugging each other immediately afterwards.

There were no scares in the second most important fight of the night either. Erick silva weighed 77,5 kg, and his opponent, Josh koscheck, he was even lower, showing no difficulty in going through a new weight cut process shortly after his last fight, last month.

The rest of the weigh-in didn't present any major setbacks either. Japanese Katsunori Kikuno, who faces Kevin Souza on the preliminary card, caused laughter among the crowd after tripping and almost falling on the way to the scale, with the Japanese himself joking about the fact shortly afterwards. The most tense look was between Geoffrey Pepey e André Fili, who almost had to be stopped by UFC president, Dana White.

UFC Fight Night 62 will start at 20pm this Saturday, official Brasília time.
