Considered one of the most renowned nutritionists in MMA, whose specialty is weight loss for athletes, Mike Dolce showed doubts about the statements made by Chris Cyborg and questioned whether the Brazilian is actually willing to lose weight to finally take on the long-awaited fight against Ronda Rousey.

Even without fighting in the same organization or even in the same weight division, Cyborg and Rousey are declared enemies. The Brazilian, who fights in the featherweight division (up to 66 kg) at the Invicta FC event, frequently declares that she is considering moving down to Rousey's bantamweight category (up to 61 kg) and challenging the UFC champion. However, Cyborg is cautious about the viability of the plan, as she is not sure that she can lose the remaining 5 kg without harming her performance in fights.

Dolce, who worked briefly with Cyborg in 2013, stated that the Brazilian fighter is creating obstacles to not face Rousey, with whom the nutritionist currently works. “Cris can definitely weigh 61 kg. Easily, any day of the week. But she doesn't want to. She chose to gain weight and put up an extra barrier so that she never struggles with Ronda Rousey”, accused Dolce, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.

The nutritionist uses as a basis the experience he had when helping the Brazilian woman. “When I met Cris for the first time, she weighed 74 kg. And she was out of the competition period, which is normally when the athlete gets as heavy as possible, and she said she wanted to face Ronda. Now, fast forward two years and she says she weighs 79 pounds and still wants to fight Ronda. In other words, she gained 5 kg even though she said she wanted to lose weight to 61 kg. Do the math. Does she really want to fight Ronda or is she making a fuss to get attention?”, he asked.

According to Cyborg's managers, the Brazilian should have another featherweight fight in July, at Invicta. Afterwards, she will begin the weight loss process, hoping to reach 61 kg by the end of this year.
