Roan Jucão spent seven years out of Ultimate, but returned to the biggest event in world MMA in style. Jucão only needed 1m40s to submit Mark Muñoz, currently 13th in the middleweight rankings, with a rear naked choke that put the American of Filipino descent to sleep in the Octagon.

The fight barely started and Jucão, who had a clear physical disadvantage, especially after Muñoz didn't make weight, took the fight to the ground. On the ground, the Brazilian worked his position well, managed to take his rival's back and managed a tight rear-naked choke. Even with the submission in place and Muñoz out, the match referee took a long time to stop the duel and had to be warned by Roan himself about his opponent's condition before intervening.

Thank you to the UFC family for the opportunity to be back. I would also like to thank the entire American Top Team team. Pezão, this victory was for you!”, he told commentator Joe Rogan.

Bidu opens Brazilian participation with victory by split decision

In a fight with few notable moments and practically no hard blows, Valmir Bidu achieved his first victory in Ultimate. The Nova União athlete beat North American James Krause via split decision.

PUBLICITY:

At the beginning of the first round, Bidu managed good combinations, connecting good blows to Krause's face, but he spent half of the round under pressure from the North American's strong clinch game. In the second round, Krause balanced his striking and managed to hit the Brazilian, who took a while to find the timing of his jabs again.

In the last and decisive round, both Valmir and Krause showed signs of tiredness and only bet on standing, which favored the Brazilian. At the end of the three rounds, Valmir Bidu was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges (29-28, 28-29 and 29-28).
