Brazilian André Chatuba showed courage, resistance and commitment to face Paul Daley at Bellator 134, an event held in the early hours of this Saturday (28), in Uncasville, in the United States. But after three closely contested rounds with alternating control, the Brit asserted favoritism and the greater force of his strikes to take victory in the unanimous decision of the judges.

The fight

Specialist in ground fighting, André Chatuba started the fight by accepting the exchange with Daley. The Brazilian landed good boxing shots at medium range and had some advantage until the end of the first half. However, the Englishman managed to work in the clinch and after connecting with a knee he landed some crosses that shook the Brazilian athlete. Bewildered, Chatuba tried to get the takedown, but without success.

In the second half it was Daley's turn to start better. He landed the best blows and shook the Brazilian on two occasions, one of which André ended up going to the ground. But halfway through the partial, Chatuba managed to take down his rival and stay on top on the ground. Even though it was ineffective, he advanced a few positions and even though Paul got up, he was quickly pressed against the bars.

In the third round with the fight even, Paul Daley started with everything and in the first few moves he managed to land a left blow and take the Brazilian to the ground. On the ground, the Englishman landed several blows, but, with courage, Chatuba resisted the pressure and continued in the dispute. Willing to end the dispute, the Brit managed another knockdown with a knee to the face. However, once again, André resisted the pressure and continued in the dispute.

PUBLICITY:

At a disadvantage on the cards, Chatuba still had a good moment at the end of the fight. After suffering two knockdowns, he landed a good blow on Daley and managed to put his rival on the ground. He still advanced his back, but was unable to secure the choke. The Brazilian still looked for another takedown and ended the contest on top. However, without doing enough to turn the partial around.

In the end, Paul Daley won by unanimous decision from the judges (29-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Gracie wins on preliminary card

If Andre Chatuba ended up defeated, the other Brazilian on the Bellator 134 card had many reasons to celebrate. The black belt Neiman Gracie defeated American Bobby Flynn. The member of the sport's most traditional family could not achieve victory in any other way: submission. He secured a rear naked choke in just 2m36s of the fight.

With the result, Neiman scored his third victory in three MMA fights.
