Two years after making history by becoming the first woman to step into the UFC Octagon, this Saturday (28), the bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will once again be the protagonist of an important milestone for women's MMA. This time, Ronda faces the challenger Zingano cat in the main fight of UFC 184, the first event from the biggest organization on the planet to feature both the main and co-main fights starring women.

With ten wins in ten fights as a professional, Ronda beat eight opponents by submission, with her traditional armbar, and another two by technical knockout, both in her most recent appearances in the octagon. Furthermore, the blonde is one of the most important UFC and MMA stars, constantly appearing in reports in the mainstream media, even non-specialized media, or on magazine covers, TV shows, fashion shows and advertising campaigns.

Furthermore, the holding of UFC 184 in Los Angeles (USA) refers to another aspect of Ronda's life, who recently began her career as an actress in Hollywood. In just over a year, the blonde has participated in two of today's main action franchises, “The Fast and the Furious” and “The Expendables”, and in the film adaptation of the TV series “Entourage”.

Climb to dethrone Ronda Rousey, who is already considered one of the most dominant champions in Ultimate, Zingano cat has the necessary credentials to occupy such a position. The widow of Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach Maurício Zingano is also undefeated as a professional and has a good level both in takedowns and on the ground, as well as in striking. The North American is coming off a victory over the Brazilian Amanda nunes, in September of last year.

But UFC 184 isn't just Rousey vs. Zingano. In fact, if this will be the first event with four women starring in the two main fights, this will only be possible thanks to the presence of Holly holm e Rachel Pennington, who are the co-main event of the night.

The fight marks the long-awaited debut of Holly holm in the octagon. The blonde, who trains with names like the champion Jon Jones at the “Jackson and Winkeljohn's MMA” gym, she was hired to be a threat to Ronda's reign and was due to face Pennington at the end of last year, but ended up getting injured and the duel was postponed. Now, the decorated boxer, considered by many to be one of the greatest professional female boxing athletes in history, will have the chance to expand her undefeated record and, who knows, get closer to a title fight.

Your opponent, Rachel Pennington, is a veteran of TUF 18, in which she was part of the Miesha Tate, rivaling the team led by Ronda Rousey on the reality show. With a record of five wins and four losses, Pennington is coming off a victory over Ashlee Evans-Smith, Holm's replacement, in December last year.

Third event in pay-per-view (from the numbered series) this year, UFC 184 also has four Brazilian representatives, they are: Gleison Tibau, Roan Jucão, Dhiego Lima and Valmir Bidu. Among the quartet, the highlight is Tibau, who accepted the duel against Tony Ferguson at the last minute, and seeks to reach a historic record in the octagon.

Against Ferguson, the native of Rio Grande do Norte will reach 25 fights on the most famous stage in world MMA and, as a result, will reach second place in the historical ranking in this category, tied with the former welterweight champion Matt hugs. To reach the leader Tito Ortiz, however, Tibau still needs to fight at least two more fights, in addition to the duel at UFC 184. Furthermore, the lightweight also defends against “El Cucuy” an undefeated streak that has already lasted three fights, the most recent of which was the triumph about Norman Parke on January 18th.
