The UFC has already defined the main fight of the organization's first visit to the Philippines. Frankie Edgar, former UFC lightweight champion and current first place in the featherweight rankings, will face Urijah faber, third place in the roosters. The information, obtained by the North American website “Bloody Elbow”, says that the fight will be held in the under-66 kg division.

Edgar, 33 years old, has three consecutive victories in the UFC, over Charles of the Bronx, B.J. Penn e Cub swanson. His last defeat was in February 2013, when he was overcome by José Aldo in a fight valid for the belt in the under-66 kg division. Edgar was lightweight champion between 2010 and 2012.
Faber, two years older, has been competing among bantamweights (up to 61 kg) since 2010, and came close to winning the title on a few occasions, but ended up defeated by Renan Barao e Dominick Cruz. Before that, the “California Kid” competed at featherweight, including being the long-time champion of the now-defunct WEC event. In his last fight in the category, he lost to Aldo in a unanimous decision by the judges. Faber was scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night Rio in March, but left the card after suffering an injury. Raphael Assunção, who would be his opponent.
According to “Bloody Elbow”, the confrontation will be officially confirmed this Thursday (12). The event will be held on May 16, in the country's capital, Manilla.
