One of the biggest criticisms of the use of banned substances in MMA, Ronda Rousey said she was extremely upset when she found out about the case involving Anderson Silva, caught using anabolic substances in a recent surprise doping test.

“I was heartbroken to hear this. I wanted to cry”, confided the fighter, in an interview given to the North American website “Yahoo Sports”.

The UFC women's bantamweight division champion once again insisted on the dangers that banned substances, especially anabolic steroids, bring to the sport, as it is a combat modality. “People need to realize that this is a weapon they are bringing into the Octagon and it makes our sport insecure. The day a person dies in the Octagon and the person who killed them tests positive, we will have our first case of homicide. This will destroy the entire sport,” said Rousey.

The next fight Ronda Rousey in the UFC will be on February 28th, in Los Angeles (USA), when the champion will defend her title again against the undefeated Zingano cat.
