Anderson Silva's second surprise doping test is negative

Test carried out on January 19th does not indicate the presence of anabolic steroids; fighter, however, is still awaiting the retest of the 9/1 test, which came back positive

The second surprise anti-doping test carried out by Anderson Silva Before his fight at UFC 183 last month, he came clean and did not report using any banned substances.

The information was obtained by the North American website “MMA Fighting”. The Brazilian provided blood and urine samples on January 19, ten days after taking the test that indicated the presence of drostanolone and androsterone.

However, despite the result, Anderson is still subject to punishment from the Nevada Athletic Commission. The case will depend on the counter-evidence examination, which will be carried out using samples provided on January 9th, when banned substances were present.

Anderson fought on January 31st against Nick Diaz, in the main fight of UFC 183. In his first fight since the fateful broken leg, in December 2013, the Brazilian dominated the North American and won by judges' decision.
