Ray Longo also criticized Ultimate's position of offering a title shot only to Spider, and not extending the right to Nick Diaz

UFC president Dana White has already said that if Anderson Silva win Nick Diaz on his return to the octagon there is a high chance that he will fight for the belt again, against the winner of the duel between Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman – by someone who has already been defeated twice. The possibility of a trilogy against Spider, however, does not please Weidman's coach, Ray Longo, who said he sees no point in a new duel between his pupil and the Brazilian.

“I don’t want to see this fight. Personally, as a coach, I really don't want to see it. Is the guy (Anderson Silva) is getting older. At this point, you have nothing left to prove. I don't understand. I don't want to see him get hurt. You're putting a talented guy, one of the best of all time, against a strong, big, fierce fighter. It's not like Weidman is deficient in any area. He proved that”, said the coach, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website.

Furthermore, Longo criticized the decision to grant Anderson a title shot in case of victory, but not do the same for the Brazilian's opponent, Nick Diaz. "I don't understand. It should be vice versa. If Nick Diaz If he won, he should have his chance. I don’t like it when they say one guy will achieve something and the other won’t,” he commented.

This Saturday (31), Ray Longo follows the return of Anderson Silva to the octagon, at UFC 183, in front of Nick Diaz. On February 28th, it's time to Chris Weidman make his third belt defense. The champion's opponent will be the Brazilian Vitor belfort. The middleweight title duel is the main fight of UFC 184, which takes place at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles (USA).
