The open training sessions for UFC 183, which will take place this Wednesday (28) in Las Vegas, in the United States, will not feature one of the event's biggest stars. Nick Diaz, which will face Anderson Silva in the main fight of the attraction, he missed two flights and will not be able to arrive at the session location in time.

The information was confirmed by UFC public relations director, Dave Sholler, to the North American website “MMA Fighting”. According to him, Diaz decided not to board the planes that would take him from California, where he lives, to Las Vegas, having missed a flight on Tuesday night and another on Wednesday morning.
Still according to the information, Diaz went to the airport and did check-in, but then left. The curious thing is that his luggage was checked in – that is, the bags arrived in Las Vegas, but the fighter did not. Sholler stated that the UFC may soon study a possible punishment for the North American, which should take a few days, as the organization's president, Dana White, is traveling giving interviews.

Precisely for this reason, White came to play in his Twitter, posting a photo in which he insinuates that Diaz is missing. One of the fighter's managers, Lloyd Pierson, explained the situation and insisted that there is no problem with the athlete: “This isn't old Nick showing his face. There were some logistical problems. Everything is in order now. Everyone knows what’s going on,” he said.
However, Sholler countered and stated that the story is not quite like that: “I don't know why Lloyd is making these comments. I can’t speak for him, but so far we have no evidence to believe this [Diaz going to Las Vegas] is happening,” she said.
President of the UFC, White reacted with dismay to the events. “I did this to myself, again. I gave a great fight to Nick Diaz. When we meet in the office, he complains that he isn't being paid enough. Well, now he's getting paid to do this fight. But no matter how much we pay him, he... Well, I did that to myself. I can't come here and complain about Nick Diaz. Nick is being Nick,” she said.
This is not the first time that Diaz has had problems keeping to the official agenda of an event. In 2011, he was scheduled to face Georges St Pierre for the welterweight title, but ended up being removed from the fight as punishment for failing to participate in a press conference.
