Anderson Silva He is recognized as one of the most efficient stand-up athletes in all of MMA, mainly due to his sharp Muay Thai. In an interview with the North American website “Bloody Elbow”, Schilling stated that Diaz took his preparation seriously, reaching a high level of physical conditioning for the fight. “He is in great shape, like a real athlete. The other day he did nine five-minute rounds against different opponents in each round, including striking and takedowns. He's doing things like this almost every day. It will be a good fight, and he couldn’t have had better training for her,” he said.

Precisely to prepare for the dangers of Anderson's striking, Schilling highlighted the high level of sparring used by Diaz during his training, including Artem Levin, world champion of muay thai and the Glory striking event, Chidi Njōkuani, in addition to Schilling himself, one of the kickboxers most respected weight class in the world. “Everyone I brought to do sparring with Nick are better kickboxers than the guy he's going to face. Artem is a kickboxers better than Anderson, I'm one kickboxers better than Anderson, Chidi has better movement than Anderson. It was good training. I tried to knock Nick out all the time, but I couldn’t,” she reported.

Schilling considers that Anderson has not been truly tested in striking in MMA, since, according to him, the Brazilian has faced few truly elite athletes in stand-up fighting. “I think that, in general, his level of opponents in terms of striking was not that high. If you watch the fights against Chris Weidman, he was frustrated. I think he 'broke' mentally and that's why he started to behave arrogantly, making those silly jokes”, he analyzed.

And Schilling sees several holes in Anderson's game based on the various videos published by the Brazilian during his training period. “They've been publishing all these videos of Anderson in training, jumping, throwing knees and stuff like that, but I don't think he looks good. He's moving like an old guy. He doesn't seem to have that fluent punch that guys like me and Artem Levin have. The more I have studied Anderson Silva, but I think he is a good kickboxers for MMA, but, in kickboxing professional, he would be lost”, he commented.
