After receiving its first two fights on Wednesday night (21), including the main event of the night between Raphael Assunção e Urijah faber, the UFC Fight Night 62 card, which takes place in March in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), begins to take shape. Now, the night of fights at the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho received the addition of a duel between the Brazilian Erick silva and the American Ben Saunders, valid in the welterweight category.

Information about the fight was published on the website of the “Combate” channel. For Erick silva, the confrontation is the chance to end an alternating sequence of victories and defeats that has lasted almost four years, since the Espírito Santo debuted in Ultimate. Since then, Erick has lost four fights and won another five, the most recent of which was in his last appearance, against the American Mike Rhodes, in December of last year. In his career, Silva has a record of 17 wins, five losses and one draw.
Ben Saunders, aged 31, has a record of 18 wins, six defeats and two draws. Veteran of the 6th season of The Ultimate Fighter, Saunders is in his second stint with the UFC, after a season at rival Bellator, and returned to cause a stir by achieving the first omoplata submission in the organization's more than 21-year history, over Chris Hatherly, on his return to the Octagon last month of August.
UFC Fight Night 62 takes place on March 21st, at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). In the main fight of the night, the Brazilian Raphael Assunção, fourth in the bantamweight rankings, will face the North American Urijah faber, third on the list, in a duel that could define the next challenger for the belt in the 61,2 kg category. Furthermore, Gilbert Durinho also faces the former Strikeforce champion Josh thomson on fight night.
