Much has been said about the chance of Conor McGregor e José Aldo face each other in Brazil or even in a stadium for more than 80 thousand people in Ireland. The big duel for the featherweight belt, however, should take place in the city of Las Vegas (USA), at UFC 187, in May. The information was revealed by President Dana White during the press conference in Boston (USA), in the early hours of Monday (19).

“We are planning (the fight between McGregor and Aldo) for May, in Las Vegas”, said the director, who explained the reason for practically ruling out the event in Croke Park, in Dublin (Ireland). “There are a number of obstacles for Croke Park. The time (since the time zone between Ireland and the United States can vary between five and eight hours), we also lose around 25 to 30% of sales of pay-per-view at events in other countries. The amount of money that would be spent on producing an event in Croke Park, because I guarantee you it will rain... I'm not a meteorologist, but I guarantee you it will rain. I'm not saying we'll never go there, but it's going to be Vegas for this event”, said the director.

As the UFC calendar has already been officially released for 2015, it is already known that the only event in pay-per-view scheduled for the month of May is UFC 187, scheduled for the 23rd. This card is considered one of the most important of the year, as it is the one that traditionally precedes the May holiday. Memorial Day in the USA, in honor of North American war veterans, one of the most important in the country.

osé Aldo, 28 years old, has a professional record of 25 wins and only one defeat. The only champion in the history of the Ultimate featherweight category, the man from Manaus has seven successful title defenses and is coming off a victory in his rematch against the North American Chad Mendes in October last year, at UFC Rio 5. Conor McGregor, 26 years old, has a record of 17 wins and two losses. Former champion of the European Cage Warriors event, the Irishman is undefeated since debuting in Ultimate and has had a meteoric rise within the biggest MMA organization on the planet.
