On Sunday night (18), early Monday morning (19) in Brazil, the featherweight category met its new challenger for the belt, with the victory of Conor McGregor which guaranteed the Irish as the next opponent of José Aldo. But, apart from the title fight, there was also movement at the top of the category, with the announcement of a duel between two of the main names in the division: Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas, who will face each other at UFC Fight Night 63, on April 4th.

In common, Mendes and Lamas have an uncomfortable record in their professional records: both fighters have already been defeated by the champion José Aldo in a title fight, Mendes including twice. Despite this, however, they remain well ranked in the category, with Chad occupying first place and Ricardo appearing in third place.
The fight will be the main attraction of the event, which will be held in the city of Fairfax, Virginia (USA). Other fights were also announced: former featherweight standout, Dustin poirier will move up a category to face the Brazilian Carlos Diego Ferreira in the lightweight division; also in the up to 70 kg category, the card will have Bobby Green x Jorge masvidal e Michael chiesa x Mitch Clarke.
