After the Brazilian's victory over Stipe Miocic, in December last year, it was announced that he had been suffering from a problem with his right knee. However, the athlete himself denied the story at the press conference after the event. This Thursday (15), however, Cigano used social media to announce that he underwent surgery there and that he also took the opportunity to have his nose operated on.

According to the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the knee injury of Junior Gypsy is in the collateral ligament, while the nose surgery was to correct a deviated septum. At 30 years old, Junior Gypsy has a professional record of 17 wins and three losses. There is still no estimated timeframe for the former heavyweight champion's return to the Octagon or even to training.
