Sergio Pettis joins his older brother at UFC 185 and makes his flyweight debut

'Phenomenon' faces Ryan Benoit at the same event where Anthony Pettis defends his belt against Rafael dos Anjos

Once again Anthony and Sergio Pettis will participate together in a UFC event. The younger brother was confirmed for UFC 185, on March 14, in Dallas (USA), shortly before Anthony made his second title defense against Rafael dos Anjos.

Sergio, nicknamed “Phenomenon”, will make his debut in the flyweight division (up to 57 kg) against Ryan Benoit. In his four fights in the UFC, still among bantamweights (up to 61 kg), the fighter won three victories and suffered only one defeat. Benoit lost the only fight he had inside the octagon, against Josh Sampo.

The brothers already participated in the same UFC event in December last year. At UFC 181, Sergio defeated Matt Hobar via unanimous decision, and Anthony defended his lightweight belt with a submission against Gilbert Melendez.
