'I'll be ready for whatever Pitbull tries to do,' says Straus

The North American believes he has evolved more than the Brazilian since the first fight between the two, in May 2011

Bellator 132 will represent yet another chance for Daniel Straus to establish himself as the featherweight champion of the second largest MMA organization on the planet. To do this, he will have to go through Patrick Pitbull, who is on a five-fight winning streak, including a gala performance against then-champion Pat Curran.

However, Straus sees himself ready for combat, which will take place on January 16th in Temecula, California (USA). “I don't have any specific training partner for this training, but I have people who can imitate him. I have wrestlers who can take me down, I have strikers who can destroy me quickly. I’ve been working with the right people – right-handed, left-handed… So, I’ll be ready for everything he tries to do”, said Straus, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Mania”.

The fight will represent a rematch between the two. In May 2011, Pitbull defeated the North American in the final of the fourth season tournament, by judges' decision. Straus is confident that history will be different. “He’s been the same fighter for years. I'm not saying he hasn't evolved, but it's just that it's working for him. He's the type of guy who goes all out and tries to bring you down. Nowadays he uses his footwork a lot more. He doesn't stay grounded like he used to. I see a lot of evolution in his game, but I think I've evolved more”, he analyzed.
