UFC hires Irishman responsible for McGregor's last defeat

Joseph Duffy, who submitted a loudmouth in 2010, is expected to make his Ultimate debut in March or April

The UFC recently announced the signing of the Irishman Joseph Duffy, which should reinforce the organization's list of lightweight fighters. Currently 26 years old, Duffy was the last athlete to defeat Conor McGregor, a compatriot who is close to challenging for the UFC featherweight division belt.

In November 2010, “Irish Joe”, as he is known, quickly finished the loudmouth, applying a katagatame after just 38 seconds. A few months earlier, another submission over another prominent name: Norman Parke, TUF Smashes champion, whom he defeated with a rear naked choke. After that, Duffy had six more fights, winning five – the defeat, his only one in his career, was against Ivan Musardo, in October 2011.

According to the Irish newspaper “The Score”, Duffy is expected to make his debut in the octagon between March and April.
