Ruthless fighter with his opponents inside the Octagon, Anthony Pettis showed a different face to comment on his next fight. The lightweight champion, who will defend his belt in March, against Rafael dos Anjos, praised the Brazilian fighter, and was excited for the fight that will be the main attraction of UFC 185.

“Dos Anjos is the only guy besides me who defeated Ben henderson e Donald Cerrone, so I think he's definitely a skilled guy. He hasn't been getting much attention, but I don't know why. He is a very good fighter. He dominated Nate diaz”, analyzed Pettis, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.

The champion stated that Dos Anjos should receive more credit after his recent victories. “I don't know why he doesn't get so much attention. Maybe he doesn't talk enough, but he has the skills that made him deserve to fight for the title. That's why I'm excited. He's not going to get there and try to tie it up. He will try to end the fight, and that only makes me do my best. He’s going to try to knock me out and I’m going to try to knock him out,” he continued.

The kind words were not used to comment on his disaffection Khabib Nurmagomedov, who has been publicly challenging him for several months. “He's definitely an annoying guy. I think his striking is at an amateur level. He only imposes himself with his wrestling. Does he think his striking is good enough to survive a fight against me, take me down and tie me up for 25 minutes? He never did that. He never fought a 25-minute main event. Anyone can tie up for 15 minutes, but it's different when you're fighting for the belt. At the same time, his striking is amateur compared to my wrestling. If we compare, my wrestling is at a much better level than his striking”, he assessed.
