The information was released by the “Radar Online” column, written by journalist Lauro Jardim. According to the publication, the agreement with Anderson is part of a heavy investment plan by the Eletrobrás subsidiary, which already has 39 sponsored athletes.

It has not been confirmed whether the contract will come into effect immediately and Spider will print Furnas' brand on his shorts in the fight against Nick Diaz, on January 31st. Regardless, this should be the only opportunity for the fighter to take his sponsor's brand to the octagon, as from July this year onwards, exclusive advertising exposure between Reebok and UFC will be valid.

After more than a year away from the octagon, due to a serious fracture in his left leg suffered in December 2013, Anderson Silva returns next January 31st, in the main fight of UFC 182, against Nick Diaz. Ultimate president Dana White assured that, in case of victory, Spider will compete for the middleweight belt against Vitor belfort ou Chris Weidman.
