However, Rampage He explained his decision to return to fight in the Octagon in a simple way. He believes that, despite all the flaws he has seen in the UFC, the organization is the best possible place for a fighter. “I don't agree with everything the UFC does, but it's the best organization I've ever been in and I've been most successful with them. So I decided to go back there and finish my career with them. Nobody pays as well as them. Everyone wants to get a raise at their job – if you work at a law firm, you want to become a partner one day. Every human being wants more. I'm sure a lot of things will happen and I won't be 100% happy with the UFC, but there is no perfect job in this world. I'm just sure it will be better than the situation I was in," he explained. Rampage, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Rampage said that their dissatisfaction with Bellator arose with the non-fulfillment of part of the contract they had. “I would be very happy in Bellator if they had done what they said they would do for the contract. Frankly, I had a deal with Viacom [the company that owns Bellator]. They didn't fulfill the contract. Looking back now, I think they signed me just to fight for Bellator and I don't think they had any intention of doing the other things they said they would do. So I gave them 45 days to fix the problem. They didn’t correct it, so I used the option I had to end the contract,” he said.

The first passage of Rampage for the UFC happened between 2007 and 2013, when he became champion after knocking out Chuck Liddell. However, the American ended his time in the organization in a bad phase, with four defeats in his last six fights. Right away, Rampage signed with Bellator, where he had three fights and won three victories.
