UFC manager plans event at Palmeiras stadium for second half of 2015

The flirtation between UFC and Allianz Parque, Palmeiras' new stadium, may be close to becoming a marriage. During the press conference that followed UFC Barueri, in the early hours of this Sunday (21), the organization's director of international development Marshall Zelaznik revealed that the organization's expectation is to host an event at the Palmeiras arena in the second half of 2015.

“I think I mentioned last time that we were waiting for the Palmeiras stadium to be built. Barueri has been incredible, it's our second event here, and the state of São Paulo has been incredible. All the fighters have been talking about it, people in the city are talking about it and the Palmeiras stadium is in our sights. We are looking at the dates, in the middle of the year or in the second half, but we are optimistic that we will get there this year (2015)”, said Zelaznik.

After much speculation, Ultimate held its first official event at Allianz Parque last Thursday (18). On that date, the official UFC Barueri training took place. On that occasion, in conversation with the SUPER FIGHTS, people linked to the stadium's administration confirmed contacts between the MMA organization and the arena with a view to promoting a card there.
