Lyoto promises surprise against Dollaway and creates suspense: 'After it fits, I'll talk'

Owner of a very peculiar style due to his karate base, the Brazilian Lyoto Machida He has a vast repertoire to attack his opponents. Protagonist of the main fight of UFC Barueri, this Saturday (20), Lyoto promised a surprise blow to try to catch CB Dollaway off guard. The Dragon, however, remained a mystery regarding the type of movement he intends to execute.

“We always want something new. I always look for something different to bring the public. But on Saturday I can try to show a little, because I say it before and it doesn't work... But I trained everything and some different things to surprise my opponent, but it's difficult to say now. After it fits, I’ll talk (laughs)”, said Machida, this Thursday (18), during the half day and the open training sessions at UFC Barueri.

Furthermore, the Brazilian also spoke about his preparation for the duel in Barueri. “Every fight is difficult, starting with the preparation. But I studied Dollaway's game a lot, I know how it can come and the dangers of it. He must have also studied me... And I'm prepared and I want to get back on track to fight for the belt”, assured the former champion, who mentioned the athletes he believes are ahead of him in the middleweight division. “I think there are some athletes ahead of me, like Rockhold or Jacaré, but each performance is important to get my place in the sun and fight again for what I want”, he pondered.

Finally, despite his focus on the belt, Machida assured that his first concern is not the result of the fight against Dollaway, but rather the way he will present himself in the octagon. “People wait a lot for the result. Of course, as professionals we want the result, we want to be champions and we want to win, but I see the fight in a different way. I think each fight has its importance, I want to do my best and the consequence of that is a knockout, a submission and victory”, he assured.

This Saturday (20), at Ginásio José Correia, in Barueri (SP), Lyoto Machida faces CB Dollaway in the main event of UFC Fight Night 58. The fight, scheduled for five rounds, will be valid in the middleweight category, with a weight limit of up to 84 kg.
