After breaking his leg in the rematch against Chris Weidman, in December last year, it is natural, in the opinion of many, that the Anderson Silva be a little afraid of kicking again when you return to the octagon. But if it depends on Spider, however, any type of fear will only remain in the memories of the serious injury suffered. In an interview given this Wednesday (17), Anderson assured that he will not avoid kicks in the fight against Nick Diaz, on January 31st, and which has even exaggerated the intensity during the coup training.

“It’s a movement I’ve been doing since I was a child, since I was eight years old. I've never had any type of injury – I've seen several people break their leg in the same way, or their arm, but it had never happened to me. At first, when you start training again, it's natural that you feel a little insecure, but I'm back to normal, I'm already kicking it in sparring. The other day, I even got tough from Ramon (Lemos, coach), who said, “hold on, stop kicking so much, are you crazy?'. And I said: 'Master, let me just give you one more kick!' But he's back, his leg is fine and I hope to be able to kick a lot. But when in doubt, I'll kick more from the waist up”, said Anderson, laughing, during a press conference in which he announced his partnership with a famous communication app for smartphones in Rio.

According to the former middleweight champion, his biggest concern is not the risk of a new injury or even the threat of Nick Diaz on the other side of the octagon, but rather the way he will present himself upon his return. “My biggest concern is what it will be like to return. I'm not worried about the opponent, but about the return, I want to return soon, I'm worried about how my performance will be, there's that doubt. It is not fear, but doubt. But, after taking the first punch, everything is fine”, assured Spider.

At 39, Anderson Silva has a professional record of 33 wins and six losses. Spider hasn't stepped into the Octagon since December 28, 2013, when he was defeated by Chris Weidman after fracturing his left leg after having a low kick blocked. Since then, the Brazilian has been recovering and will return to action on January 31st, on the same stage as the injury, the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA), against Nick Diaz. The fight is the main event of UFC 183.
