Many remembered what happened to welterweight Paul Daley in 2010. At UFC 113, the Englishman deliberately hit his opponent, Josh koscheck, as soon as the bell sounded, which caused him to be immediately fired by the organization. However, White stressed that these are two different cases.

“People went crazy about it. ‘She hit it after the bell, she did this, she did that,’ and, of course, everyone remembered Daley. The difference is, with Daley, he didn't care. He didn't give a damn. He looked at me and said he didn't care. As soon as Cláudia did this, she immediately apologized. It’s a completely different situation”, compared White, at a press conference.

In the fight, Gadelha was controversially defeated in a split decision by the judges. This was the first setback in the Brazilian's career, who now has a record of 12-1.
