UFC Highlights Offer to Train CM Punk Ahead of His MMA Debut

The arrival of pro-wrestling star CM Punk in the UFC is giving people something to talk about this week. The North American, who doesn't have a single MMA fight on his resume, saw his signing come under a lot of criticism from fans and fighters. However, some prominent UFC names showed solidarity with the ex-WWE man's situation and offered to help him.

The new UFC welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler, stated that he was also the target of criticism in the past and invited his compatriot to train with him at his gym. “Hey CM Punk, everyone doubted me too. I moved to American Top Team and proved them wrong. Come here and do the same”, wrote Lawler on his Twitter, receiving support from another athlete on the team, Tyron woodley, third place at welterweight: “Not a bad idea! I offer to help.”

The next challenger for the light heavyweight belt, Daniel Cormier, invited CM Punk to train at the American Kickboxing Academy, a team that also has Cain Velazquez e Luke Rockhold. Cormier used as an example what AKA did with former American football player Herschel Walker, who joined the team and won the two MMA fights he had in Strikeforce. “CM Punk, we've done this before with Herschel Walker. AKA is his home. You don't even need to go through the selection process. See you soon”, he posted.

At 36 years old, CM Punk is one of the biggest stars recently in the WWE. His UFC debut does not yet have a set date, but it is already known that it will take place in the middleweight or welterweight division.
