The year was quite busy in the UFC bantamweight division. Renan Barao, who started 2014 with the belt, was defeated by TJ Dillashaw impressively and lost the title. In the rematch between the two, which would be held in August, the Brazilian had problems with cutting weight at the last minute and was removed from the fight. This caused the American to fill his rival with provocations, claiming that Barão is afraid of facing him again.

Barão, then, decided to respond in kind. The former champion promised that a rematch between him and Dillashaw would be totally different, but he bet that the current owner of the belt will not make it past his next defense, which should be against Dominick Cruz. “Dillashaw is talking too much nonsense. When we face each other again it will be a totally different story. He landed a blow at the beginning of the fight, but the next one will be completely different. You can take note that, when we face each other, he will see another Renan Barao. But I don't think he wins Dominick Cruz. Cruz has more game than him, he's more experienced and I think he takes this one. I even prefer Dillashaw to win, because it would be a more exciting event, the crowd would talk more and it would be a good fight. But I don't really like making jokes out there. I like to show my work inside. I'll show you the best inside Renan Barao that already existed”, said the Brazilian, in a press conference reproduced on the website of the “Combate” channel.

Barão not only has the desire to face Dillashaw again, but he would like the fight to take place in Brazil. “It would be great if we faced each other in Brazil. I think he would be all shit. Fighting at home is easy, I want to see it here, it's totally different. I'm focused and I hope to face him and bring the belt back. He better enjoy the belt because I’ll bring it back to Brazil soon,” he promised.

Before thinking about Dillashaw, Barão has another commitment within the UFC. On December 20th, in Barueri (SP), the former champion will face Mitch Gagnon.
