The Brazilian Edson Barboza had two major challenges inside the octagon: overcoming Bobby Green and the opponent's provocations. From the first movements, the North American found it difficult to impose his tactics: playing on the counterattack and taking down the Tupiniquim athlete and working on the ground. With that, he started to provoke.

During Edson's attacks with kicks to the leg or well-placed boxing punches, Green lowered his guard and showed that he was not bothered by the attacks. History repeated itself during the first half. The Brazilian attacked and the North American provoked, but without the damage suffered.

In the second round, the Brazilian had his best moment. Barboza combined a punch with kicks to the leg, which made Bobby feel it. He then launched the well-known round kick and Green fell, but quickly got up. Although the Brazilian came close to victory at the beginning of the partial, the North American recovered in the final half. He walked forward with his arms tight and tried to surprise Edson with flying knees.

Despite the endless provocations, Barboza did not lose concentration and maintained control of the fight. Behind the judges' sheets, Green needed to open up in the third round. The Brazilian took advantage of the moment and connected with a right on the counterattack. The North American visibly felt and lost momentum. Despite this, he walked forward, but without attacking.

Confident in the dispute, Edson Barboza had the chance to return the provocations. When he heard the signal for 10 seconds to end the fight, the Brazilian celebrated in front of Green and left the field of action with his arms raised.

Despite the tense atmosphere throughout the fight, after the fight the two fighters knelt in the center of the octagon and hugged each other for a long time in a very sporting atmosphere.
