The new journey of Anderson Silva for the UFC belt may be shorter than expected. The president of the franchise, Dana White, revealed that the Brazilian could return to fight for the title if he beats the North American Nick Diaz, in the main fight of UFC 181, on January 30th.

Even though he has been away from the octagon since December 2013, due to a serious leg injury, according to the director, Spider would face the winner of Chris Weidman e Vitor belfort, who measure forces on February 28th.

“Any one of these fights leads to a bigger fight. Anderson Silva will fight with Nick Diaz, While Chris Weidman e Vitor belfort will face each other. Anderson can fight the winner of this fight,” White declared to Fox Sports, after the organization’s press conference, this Monday (17).

If Dana White's wish is confirmed, Anderson Silva would have the opportunity to avenge the two defeats suffered by Chris Weidman, which resulted in the loss of the belt and, subsequently, the broken leg in the rematch. If the opponent is Vitor belfort, the Brazilians would re-edit the UFC 126 duel in 2011, for many the great landmark of the sport in the country.
