The big mystery for MMA fans is how Vitor belfort will come forward in the fight against Chris Weidman, who will win the UFC middleweight belt on February 28, in Los Angeles (USA). At 37 years old, the Brazilian hasn't fought since November last year, and since then, he's had to adapt to fighting without testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), banned at the beginning of the year.
However, Belfort was confident in commenting on his current condition as a fighter, ensuring that he is in the best phase of his long fighting career. “I have never been so strong and explosive. I'm much better than before. The business is the mind. Most people have insecure minds. With the talent that God gave me, I develop this. If I don't work hard, I won't go anywhere. The fight is always for the belt. It will be the third belt, I will make history. I conquered my space, I'm here. I'm here to take the belt that's mine. I’m going to do what no one has done before in history”, said Belfort, in a press conference reproduced by the “LANCE!net” website.
The “Phenomenon” also pointed to his team, Blackzilians, as one of those responsible for allowing his evolution as a fighter. “My fights aren’t just in the Octagon. I can say that I grew a lot, learned new techniques. On my team, Blackzilians, I have partners like Anthony Johnson, Rashad evans, Gilbert Durinho… I fight in the gym every day. It was a year where I managed to reinvent myself. The word reinvent has existed inside me since I was 19 years old,” she said. “It was a year of growth, where I went to buy some weapons. It was a year of shopping and learning. You've seen a lot, but I say: prepare yourselves! I trained a lot, I bought good weapons”, promised the veteran.
