Wanderlei Silva and UFC seem to be experiencing an insoluble dilemma since the Brazilian was banned from MMA in the US state of Nevada after refusing to undergo an anti-doping test. Since then, there have been several exchanges of public barbs, accusations and new problems, but despite this, the fighter remains under contract with the organization. And that was exactly what Ultimate used to stop the presence of Wanderlei Silva at the promotion party for the 131st edition of its great rival Bellator, announced last Monday (10)

“Due to contractual obligations, Wanderlei Silva will not be able to participate in the Bellator 131 pre-promotion party”, published the organization on its official profile on Twitter. The message, however, was deleted shortly afterwards. Therefore, despite Wand's absence, the celebration will be attended by three other UFC athletes: Royce gracie, Frank Shamrock and Randy Couture.

Officially, the “Crazy Dog” is retired, according to his own statement released on video days before the trial that defined his ban from MMA in Las Vegas. However, recently, despite his contract with Ultimate, Wand has been linked to a series of speculations about his return to the ring.
