Currently ranked sixth in the UFC flyweight rankings, John Lineker believes he is one victory away from his dream title fight in his category. This Saturday (8), the man from Paraná will face Ian McCall in the co-main fight of UFC Uberlândia, and he hopes that a positive result against the North American will qualify him to face Demetrious Johnson in the future.

“If I beat McCall, and I will beat him, I deserve to fight for the belt,” said Lineker, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.

The two athletes exchanged several provocations in recent months, which caused the Brazilian to compare his rival to an old Disney character. “Ian McCall is a great fighter. I respect him, as I do with all my opponents. However, he talks a lot. He talks more than Jiminy Cricket. He talks as much as he runs”, said the Brazilian.
