In February, in the main fight of UFC 170, Sara McMann joined the champion's list of victims Ronda Rousey, losing his unbeaten record in MMA with a technical knockout suffered just over a minute into the fight. Even with the crushing defeat, the athlete still considers herself Rousey's main challenge in the UFC's women's bantamweight division.

McMann believes that her fighting style, combined with elite wrestling worthy of the Olympic medal in Athens (2004), is theoretically what is most capable of imposing difficulties on the champion. “I will always be the most difficult one, because I am the most difficult for her to control. Compared to the others, I have the greatest experience in wrestling”, analyzed the fighter, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Always discreet, McMann rarely draws the spotlight to herself with controversial statements – not even when Ronda stated, at the time of the fight between them, that Sara showed no desire to become champion. “I like privacy, but I know that if I want to be number one, I have to commit. She wasn't right about that. Because I accepted the title fight, I’m a pretty big girl,” she explained.

Since losing to Rousey, McMann has had just one fight in the UFC, beating Lauren Murphy in the judges' decision. Apparently, her next opponent in the octagon should be another former title challenger, Miesha Tate, although nothing has been officially confirmed by the UFC.
