On the 15th of November, Fabricio Werdum e Mark Hunt will duel to decide who will be the interim UFC heavyweight champion. And, with the fight approaching, few have priority to draw up a prognosis for the fight as much as alistair overeem, who has had the opportunity to face both athletes in the past.

The Dutchman faced Werdum twice, losing in 2006 and winning in 2011; Against the New Zealander, he won a quick submission victory in 2008. Knowing the characteristics of each one, Overeem believes that Werdum has slight favoritism for the UFC 180 main attraction.

“In the heavyweight division, [the fight] can go anywhere. Hunt is an exceptional fighter, but Fabrício has shown great skills in his last few fights. He can go anywhere. Having said that, I give Fabrício a slight advantage, but, with Hunt, there is no easy fight”, analyzed Overeem, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

However, Overeem made a point of analyzing the danger posed by Hunt's game, whom he places in a prominent position among all the athletes he has faced. “I fought him in 2008 and he's the strongest guy I've ever fought. If you get hit by it, you have a problem. So, it will be an exciting fight and I’m excited for it”, he concluded.
