O UFC Las Vegas 87, held last Saturday (2), had an embarrassing moment involving referee Chris Tognoni and Matt schnell, who was knocked out by Steve Erceg in the second round of the fight valid for flyweight (up to 56,7kg.). The duel opened the main card of the event.

After interrupting the fight, Tognoni approached Schnell and made a controversial comment about the knockout, generating adverse opinions on social media.

“I don't know what was worse: the punch you received or you hitting your head in the octagon, man. You'll see on repeat. Did you hear that?”, said Chris, patting the fighter on the chest, who was visibly shaken.

The referee also asked Matt's corner, who gave a small 'nod' of the head, confirming that he heard what he said. The professional's attitude was considered disrespectful and unethical by many fans and experts of the sport. MMA, who criticized the referee on social media.

Schnell, in turn, did not comment on the episode. The North American, who had just one victory in his four most recent appearances, suffered the eighth setback in his career and lost the chance to get closer to the top 5 in the category. Erceg, a new promise in the division, reached his 12th victory in 13 fights, also his seventh in a row.
