Aiming for big confrontations in Ultimate, Renato Moicano was caused by Dan Hooker, who suggested a confrontation in mid-2024. After triumphing in his last appearance, the Brazilian mentioned the New Zealander's name as possible opponents for the future and the call was answered. Confident in his abilities, the veteran sent a message to the athlete from Brasília.
“Moicano says I don’t want any problems. Son, I dedicated my whole life to having problems. Of course we can fight. We can fight in June. Moicano, you and I can go hand in hand in June, what do you think about that?”, declared Hooker in an interview with 'Sky Sport NZ'.

Current 10th place in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg) and backed by two consecutive victories, Dan Hooker expects to take another step towards the category title. Aware of the great appeal that the Brazilian has in the media, the athlete shows that he does not mind giving a chance to Moicano, who is currently in 13th place.

Recovered from knee surgery, Moicano ended his inactivity in a duel held in February 2024. Scheduled to face Drew dober, the Brazilian waged an intense war against the North American and triumphed in the unanimous decision of the judges. Just like Hooker, the Brazilian is also on the back of two consecutive victories in Ultimate.
