Son of legendary jiu-jitsu and MMA fighter Rickson Gracie, kron gracie will make his MMA debut later this year. The 26-year-old athlete will be in action for the first time on December 23, at the Real Fighting Championship event, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan.
The confirmation was given by Rickson himself to the North American website “MMA Fighting”. “He doesn’t have an opponent yet, but it’s already been decided. Travel, hotel, everything arranged for him to fight on December 23rd”, said Rickson, who also revealed that his son will play in the lightweight division (up to 70 kg).

Kron, several times jiu-jitsu world champion and 2013 ADCC champion in the under-77 kg category, will train with big names. “He will do part of his training at César Gracie's academy and part at his academy in Los Angeles (USA). The best thing is that Gilbert [Melendez] and his brothers [Nate and Nick] will be fighting in the next few months, so they are all on the same training rhythm”, he celebrated.
According to Rickson, his son is focused on bringing the MMA spotlight back to jiu-jitsu. “He wants to bring jiu-jitsu back to MMA. He will not train other modalities to improve his weakness. He won't start boxing, kickboxing, wrestling. He will use his jiu-jitsu to neutralize the wrestler, the striker, and work on what he is good at. I don't want him to learn how to knock someone out with one punch. He would need another life just to learn how to deal with a fighter who has experience in this. He needs to learn how to avoid fighting in his opponent’s game”, concluded Rickson.
