Flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg.), Alexandre pantoja vented about his relationship with the Brazilian public. In an interview with the 'Trocação Franca' podcast, the Brazilian star admitted to feeling undeserved by his fans. The athlete even mentioned the difference in treatment between his fans and those of Ilia Topuria, recently crowned in featherweight (up to 65,7kg.).

“The Brazilians themselves are not giving the real value. He never did, in fact. Anderson Silva It is much more respected here (in the United States) than in Brazil. I don't know if it's because it's not shown on Globo. Because, if it happens on Globo, it seems that Brazil obeys. It is very difficult to break this barrier. Even though we have Anderson Silva, José Aldo, these guys are much more respected here. We left there like vagabonds. Nobody helped us. (…) Do you see the (Ilia Topuria), was champion, went to the Real Madrid stadium, beat Aston Martini. It's fucked up. There's only football there. Very complicated,” said Pantoja.

The fighter then continued comparing the difference in treatment between Brazilian and North American fans.

“You leave Brazil as a bum, arrive here, and the guy says that 'you have knowledge that no one in the world can have. You are badass. Get the visa'. It's a very difficult stop to get. The Government sees you this way and you see a different respect, which you don't have in Brazil”, he concluded.
