Scheduled to perform at UFC Las Vegas 87 which takes place this Saturday (2), Muhammad Mokayev does not hide the desire to venture into a title fight against Alexandre pantoja. Currently placed eighth in the flyweight rankings (up to 56,7kg.) and previously undefeated, the athlete stated that he was willing to arrive in Rio de Janeiro in May and suggested a second option to the representatives.

“I think that when I finish the Alex Perez, I'm going to fight for the belt. He (Alexandre pantoja) wants new blood, the UFC wants new blood; I am here. Even if they give me Royval instead of Pantoja, this is an easy top-five fight for me, 100%. Now people understand why I always say who's easy in this division. When I came to the UFC, I watched all the guys, even before the UFC,” said Mokaev during an interview with UFC.

Amidst the dramatic scenario in the flyweight division, Mokaev is hoping to jump the queue and become Pantoja's next opponent, who is scheduled to fight on May 4th at the UFC 301. In a recent speech, the Rio native expressed his willingness to face the prospect in his second title defense and recognized the talent of the 23-year-old athlete, who dreams of becoming the youngest champion in the history of Ultimate.
