After two cancellations, the long-awaited fight between the Brazilian Vitor belfort and middleweight champion Chris Weidman There is a new date to take place. According to the website “MMA Junkie”, the fight will be the main attraction of UFC 184, scheduled for February 28, in Los Angeles. The venue will be the traditional Staples Center, home to teams such as the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.

The official announcement of the fight for Los Angeles is still awaiting confirmation, as an agreement had to be negotiated with the Nevada Athletic Commission, the entity that regulates events in Las Vegas. Since the ban on hormone replacement treatment in early 2014, Belfort has made a commitment to hold his next fight under the organization's umbrella. But the executive director of the NSAC (acronym in English), Bob Bennett, revealed the agreement between the commission and UFC.

“It was negotiated and I think he (Belfort) will be able to fight there. We had things ready and then we talked to secure the location where the tests could take place,” said Bennett.

The fight between Belfort and Weidman, valid for the middleweight belt, was initially scheduled for UFC 173, in May. However, the ban on hormone replacement therapy (TRT), which Vitor was a fan of, was prohibited and the Brazilian was prevented from fighting, as he had hormone levels above the permitted level. Afterwards, the clash was scheduled for December 6th, in the main fight of UFC 181. However, the champion suffered a broken hand and was forced to withdraw from the duel.
