Moicano's victim at UFC Las Vegas 85 recognizes the Brazilian's merit and speaks out about his defeat

Drew Dober recants and claims he is not ashamed to risk new skills against the best in the world; athlete was surpassed in points

Looking to achieve a second consecutive victory in Ultimate, Drew dober ended up having his plan interrupted after succumbing to the power of Renato Moicano and suffer defeat in the unanimous decision of the judges in the UFC Las Vegas 85. Despite the episode, the North American avoided making excuses about his performance and acknowledged his rival's 'best night' during the match.

“It’s not the result we wanted. In a game of inches, I made mistakes and Renato Moicano was the best man tonight. Congratulations to him and his team. I feel no shame in putting everything on the line and testing my skills against the best in the world”, declared Dober in a post made on his official Instagram account.

Currently ranked 15th in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg.) Dober was seen as a big underdog for the confrontation. Despite having been involved in dangerous moments during the fight, the athlete was unable to deal with the strategy applied by his rival and was dominated in the jiu-jitsu department. With the setback, the athlete was prevented from stealing 13 positions currently defended by Moicano.

On the other hand, the Brazilian, who had been inactive for more than a year, achieved yet another victory in the organization. After the confrontation, Renato expressed interest in facing Beneil Dariush ou Paddy Pimblett to follow.
