The change of opponent for UFC 180, next month, did not discourage the Fabricio Werdum. The gaucho, who, with the cutting of Cain Velazquez due to injury, will face Mark Hunt for the interim heavyweight belt, he will do everything he can to surprise the world and beat the New Zealander in a dominant fashion. At least that's what the Brazilian fighter's main coach, Rafael Cordeiro, guarantees.

Even though Werdum is one of the most accomplished athletes in the ground game and Hunt has a respectable resume in kickboxing with the K-1 title in 2001, Cordeiro believes that his pupil will seek the stand-up fight on November 15th. “I like to train my athletes to fight against strikers, this is how I develop my game. Werdum will, once again, test his Muay Thai. And I can say that he will shock the world”, said Cordeiro, in an interview with the official UFC website.

“We know that Werdum is better on the ground, where Hunt is more vulnerable. But go put it in his head! Werdum always likes to test himself in the most complicated way. I'm sure he will prove that he is the true champion”, concluded the coach.
