After a poor run of results in recent years, the veteran Paulo thiago was fired from the UFC. The information was initially given by the “Combate” channel website, later being ratified by the North American “MMA Fighting”.
Thiago, also famous for being a BOPE police officer, had worked in the biggest MMA organization on the planet since the beginning of 2009. He debuted at the event, achieving what would be his biggest victory inside the octagon, knocking out the well-known Josh koscheck in edition number 95, in England. Then, however, he lost his unbeaten MMA record against former welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch at the historic UFC 100.
He then had two victories, beating Jacob Volkmann in the judges' decision and submitting Mike Swick. After that, a streak of bad results began: he suffered seven defeats in nine fights, the last three of which were consecutive, which resulted in his dismissal. His last commitment in the cage was in September, in Brasília, when he lost to Sean Spencer.
At 33 years of age, Paulo thiago leaves the UFC with a record of 15 wins and eight losses, 5-7 inside the octagon.
