It is not uncommon in combat sports for athletes to unintentionally hit referees during combat or even after coming back from a very hard knockout. However, the act of Croatian boxer Vido Loncar was completely different. During the European Youth Boxing Championships in Zagreb (Croatia), Vido brutally knocked down the judge of his fight with a single blow and continued the attack with the victim on the ground.
Upon observing the scene, Vido Loncar's opponent, who was in the blue corner, simply ran away in a hurry. Faced with the attack, several people present in the gym invaded the ring in order to contain Loncar and rescue the judge, who was still on the ground. There was no further information about the developments in the case, but it is to be imagined that the Croatian athlete will be disaffiliated from the European Boxing Confederation and will be criminally liable for the attack.
