Ian McCall snubs John Lineker: 'Everyone knows I'm better than him'

Just over three weeks before UFC Fight Night 56, on November 8th in Uberlândia (MG), North American Ian McCall decided to set fire to the rivalry against Brazilian John Lineker, his opponent on the night's main card. In an interview, McCall made a point of disdaining the Brazilian's abilities, guaranteeing that he will win the fight without any major difficulties.

“He (Lineker) punches hard, good for him. Technically in any other situation he is not so good. I had the same game plan against the last two fighters like Lineker: speed, numbers and things like that. It's not rocket science. I know and everyone knows that I'm better than him. I have to add this and I'm going to make him look stupid”, assured the flyweight, in an interview with the website “MMA Junkie”.

Furthermore, Ian McCall also revealed that he doesn't like the Brazilian, although he can't exactly explain the origin of the aversion. “I don't like his face. There's something about him I don't like. I never liked. I have no reason, but I don't like the way he looks. He can say whatever he wants, but he won't make me play his game. I’m going to beat it the way it has to be and it won’t be difficult,” he said.

On November 8th, at Ginásio do Sabiazinho, Ian McCall and John Lineker will have the chance to resolve this dispute in the Octagon. The flyweights take part in the third-to-last fight of the night at UFC Figth Night 56, in Uberlândia (MG). In the main event, the former light heavyweight and PRIDE GP champion Mauritius Shogun faces Nigerian-British Jimi Manuwa.
