The Brazilian, middleweight champion, moved up a category to win his tenth consecutive victory in the organization and make history in Ultimate by defeating the former light heavyweight champion.

On the preliminary card, Danillo “Indian” Villefort who was making his UFC debut was defeated by Jesse lennox after suffering a cut and the fight being stopped by doctors.
