Renan Barão faces Mitch Gagnon at UFC Barueri, in December

After losing the bantamweight belt in May and being cut from the rematch against the executioner TJ Dillashaw in August after feeling ill during the weight cutting process, Renan Barao will have the support of the fans on his return to the Octagon. The Ultimate organization announced that the former bantamweight champion will face Canadian Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58, which takes place in the city of Barueri (SP) in December.

At 27, Renan Barao He has a record of 32 wins, two losses and one unsuccessful fight. This will be the first time that the native of Rio de Janeiro will fight in Brazil as a UFC athlete, until then he had had four fights in the United States, two in Canada and two in England. The last time Barão played at home was in 2010, still on the national circuit, when he beat Sérgio Bomba in the Jungle Fight 17.

UFC Fight Night 58 takes place on December 20th, at Ginásio José Correa, in Barueri, Greater São Paulo. The main fight of the event, which closes the UFC's 2014 calendar, pits the Brazilian face to face Lyoto Machida and the North American CB Dollaway.
