The year 2024 could be historic for the MMA Brazilian. At least seven fighters from the country are in a position to compete for or win a world championship belt. UFC, the largest mixed martial arts organization in the world.
Among them, there are veterans, revelations and even former champions looking to regain their position. Check out who are the Brazilians who could shine in the octagon in 2024.
Six Brazilians who could make UFC history in 2024
Mayra Sheetara
Mayra Sheetara is the closest Brazilian to a title fight. She will face the North American Rachel Pennington for the vacant bantamweight belt (up to 62,1kg.), on January 20th, at UFC 297, in Las Vegas. Third place in the ranking, comes from three consecutive victories, over Yanan Wu, Stephanie Egger and Lina Länsberg.

She had also beaten former champion Holly holm, but the fight was canceled after she tested positive for a banned substance. Mayra has a record of 10 wins, two losses and one draw and is considered one of the best fighters in the division.

Johnny Walker
The height of his career Johnny Walker, now, it's about to happen. With a second meeting in front of Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC Las Vegas 84, the Brazilian enters the octagon with the perfect opportunity to challenge his compatriot Alex Poatán for the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.).
At age 31, Walker went through Ion cutelaba, Paul Craig e Anthony Smith to reach seventh position in the ranking, in addition to 21 triumphs and seven setbacks.

Matheus Nicolau
Flyweight (up to 56,7kg.) Matheus Nicolau he is fifth in the rankings and could be one step away from a title shot if he beats the Portuguese Manel kape this Saturday, at UFC Las Vegas 84.
Nicolau returned to the UFC in 2021 after being fired in 2018, and has since won four of his five fights, including the likes of Tim Elliott e Matt schnell. He has a record of 19 wins, three setbacks and one draw and is a complete fighter, with skills both in striking and on the ground.

Deiveson Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo He wants to make history in search of a new throne in his career. After losing the title to Brandon Moreno in the quadrilogy in 2023, the fighter moved up to the bantamweight division and debuted with a victory over Rob font, in December 2023. Now, he is ranked eighth in the rankings and is waiting for a new opportunity to fight for the belt, which currently belongs to Sean O’Malley.
The God of War has already been challenged by the former champion cody garbrandt, but nothing has been confirmed yet. With a record of 23 wins, four losses and one draw, he is known for his strength and aggressiveness.

Charles of the Bronx
Charles of the Bronx, 34 years old, is first placed in the ranking and the main candidate to challenge the champion Islam makhachev, who defeated him and took away his throne in 2022.
Do Bronx bounced back from the loss with a victory over Beneil Dariush, in August 2023, and was confirmed by Dana White, president of the UFC, as UFC's next opponent. Arman Tsarukyan, UFC 300. The fight will define the next challenger for the lightweight title.
The former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) has a record of 34 positive and negative results, in addition to being the record holder for submissions in UFC history, with 15.

Paulo borrachinha
Paulo borrachinha He is sixth in the rankings and could also have a golden chance to get closer to a title fight. The Minas Gerais native will face the former champion Robert whittaker, UFC 298, in February.
Borrachinha is coming off a victory over Luke Rockhold, which put him back on the title route, after losing to Israel adesanya e Marvin vettori. He has a record of 14 wins and two losses and is one of the most explosive and controversial fighters in the division.

Jailton Malhadinho
Jailton Malhadinho has a peculiar situation in the heavyweight category (up to 120,2kg.). The interim champion is Tom aspinall, wait for the linear champion Jon Jones, who in turn must defend the belt against Stipe Miocic, in 2024. If Bones retires and the Englishman is promoted to linear champion, the Bahian could be the first challenger.
Loved by fans, Malhadinho has a fight scheduled against Curtis blaydes, UFC 299, and comes from an impressive sequence of 15 consecutive victories, over names like Derrick Lewis, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Abdurakhimov. He boasts 20 wins and two losses and is a specialist in grappling.
